South Africa Holidays - Fashion, Galleries and the Nelson Mandela Bridge


a great event to add to any South Africa holiday itinerary is Joburg Fashion Week. She is being held in Johannesburg during the month of February, a gathering of some of South Africa's most pioneering, inspiring and creative designers. This is a must for any real fashion worth their salt, and this year looks set to be an event full of surprises and innovations.

New Directions

Dr Precious Molo-Motsepe, president of the African Fashion International (AFI), and some of the big names in the fashion world attended the African stars of the event that announced the dates and locations for 2011 Joburg Fashion Week. If you plan to visit this event to your South Africa holiday and then hold onto your hats for big changes this year. Dr. Molo-Motsepe also revealed his desire that the city of Johannesburg fashion capital of Africa, a new direction that Fashion Week will be taking. She spoke about the "vision of a stronger company that will serve as a catalyst for development and growth of the fashion industry, which provides local and global participation ."

Taking Fashion to the city

One of the ways organizers hope to Fashion Week even more interesting is to include the entire city in the fashion extravaganza, so that the events on the streets and use the beautiful buildings and monuments that populate the city.
